Finally caught up on HBO’s ‘GIRLS’ ~

I loved the show right off the bat; its very realistic portrayal of 20-somethings in today’s generation caught my appeal. All the main characters are very different in terms of personality and lifestyle, but they represent very real individuals.

Initially, I HATED, absolutely HATED, Adam, but my opinion about him did a complete 180 halfway through season two. He turned out to be quite the dynamic and complex character. Plus, I think it’s interesting how I thought Marnie was so pretty and likable in the beginning, but I gradually ended up hating her as the show progressed. Despite her beauty, it wasn’t enough to blind the truth that her character turned shallow and unlikable (imo), and it just shows that appearance can only take you so far. I guess the same can be said for Adam too because he’s not exactly attractive, but I turned out to like him way more as his character began to show more.

As for everyone’s favourite self-involved OCD-suffering protagonist, Hannah Horvath, I both like her and despise her, but I’m mostly intrigued by how much I resemble her character. And I’m not just talking about the same name we share. Not necessarily a good thing because I think she’s a bit of a neurotic freak, but I see bits and pieces of me in what she says and what she does.

I love Jessa, and I wish I was more like her in certain ways, but maybe I feel like so because that’s how she’s been created to be: a girl’s ideal carefree self. Someone we all want to be but are too afraid to become.

Anyways, I don’t even know why I’m writing such a long post about GIRLS. I just decided to write something out and it turned into a bit of a ramble. I think I’ll end it by saying Elijah is the fucking bomb LOl and I want a gay best friend-slash-roommate who’ll waste weekend nights with me too :b
